A reason for gay marriage that never crossed my mind before, but hell I’d at least tune in to the first episode.

KEEP THE LIGHTS ON. This movie looks amazingly intense. I’m gonna have to check it out.

Those clever gays.

I like the gays because they’re hilarious. And fabulous.

Proof that God loves the gays. And he likes to hear us laugh. (thanks to Kevin Jones who found this on Towleroad)

These two girls are amazing. They had their own party after their school said they couldn’t go to prom together. I get that it’s a Catholic school, but good for them for standing up for themselves.

Zach Wahls speaks to Iowa House about “family.” This kid should run for office.

I’ve always thought Glenn Close deserved an Oscar. Maybe ALBERT NOBBS will be her “FINALLY!!!” moment. PS I’d imagine she would smell of lavender and EGOT.

a young man tells the horrifying story of how his family tried to “make” him straight including electricity, beatings, extreme heat/cold, and saying “if you change, I’ll love you again.”

Good blog item from the Houston Chronicle on Texas Governor (and all around asshole), Rick Perry’s upcoming prayer event excluding non-Christian faiths and allying with an anti-LGBT group.
Statements (excerpted from the Chronicle):

“We ask that Rick Perry leave the ministry to us and refocus his energy on the work of governing our state,” the Houston Clergy Council wrote in a letter signed by 24 local leaders, many of them Unitarian Universalists or members of other denominations that welcome GLBT Christians.

“We wanted to let people know that there are people of faith who have different stances than Gov. Perry. Often the only faith that gets covered is the religious right,” said Rev. Becky Edmiston-Lange, of Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church. “We are clergy persons who support the rights of all people, no matter who they love or how they worship.”

PARIAH, a new movie dealing with a young lesbian coming out, looks pretty good.

Among Mr. G.’s first students back in 1985 were runaways who had been sleeping in a shed down by the docks in Lower Manhattan where the city stored mountains of road salt.
One boy had hitchhiked from Ohio after eight teenagers dragged him into a bathroom at school, bashed his head against a toilet and burned his arm with a cigarette lighter.
Another boy, from New York City, had been abused by his parents after a teacher told them he was “acting like a faggot.” He was kept at home for a year — chained to a radiator, beaten and taken by his father to 42nd Street and forced to have sex with men for money. His father went to prison.
There is no way to know how many of the gay and lesbian youngsters who came under the wing of Mr. G., as he was known, went on to graduate from high school or just found the strength to make their way in the world. But for dozens, at least, he was a hero. CLICK FOR COMPLETE NY TIMES OBITUARY
